Pet Portrait Fundraiser with Ahimsa Dog Training

I recently put up a pet photo exhibition at Ahimsa Dog Training in Ballard and I am so excited about it! The space is great with lots of wall space - as of now the pictures are up indefinitely and I will be switching the pictures out every month or so to keep it fresh and new.

Ahimsa offers puppy and dog training classes by Certified Dog Trainers. Puppy classes start for those as young as two months so it is never to early to start your puppy off with good manners. And as someone who sees a lot of dogs and puppies, it is always refreshing to have clients with well-trained pets - it really helps the session to run smoothly! With classes as simple as Basic Manners to classes as specialized as Growly Dog Class, they offer a wide variety of choices to any dog owner. Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and many people take multiple classes as their dog progresses in skill levels. In addition to the photo exhibition, we are offering reduced rate sessions for Ahimsa clients. We have a few sessions available for others looking to get great pet portraits and support a good cause as well. Here are the details:

When: Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th

Time: Sessions available from 10am-5pm. Sessions last 30-40 minutes.

Where: Alyssa Rose Photography studio in Greenlake, 6416 Latona Ave NE

Cost: Suggested donation of $20 for the session with all the proceeds to go to PAWS. Donation is for session only and all prints are in addition.

Couple Portraits

I know this couple from my networking group and I was so excited that they wanted to come in for couple portraits. They have been together for over eleven years now and as they say, “are still making each other laugh just as hard”. A few times they had me laughing so hard, I couldn’t even hold up the camera to take the picture! Who knew I would get an ab workout with my arm workout?

Recent Session

This session took place a few months ago with some of my favorite clients and this time they brought along two friends to join the fun! Little D is just adorable as can be - I especially love the one with the hat. And M has soooo much energy, he always makes the session energized, fun and spontaneous. His panorama really captures his energy and spirit. And I love the dancing shot where M is dipping his friend. We had such a fun time and with four kids there were so many fun pictures to choose from, we even got Mom in a few shots. Hope you enjoy!

Cousin Session

I first met this little one last summer when he was just a little thing, about three months old. Now he is back for his first birthday and he brought his older cousin along for the fun! I love seeing how much little ones change within their first year and this one was no exception. His cousin was a lot of fun and really helped me out in the one-year-old “wrangling” that can go on at sessions - it made it so easy and so fun!

Puppy Portraits Special!

I know a lot of my pet clients have told me they wish they had brought their dog into the studio when he was a puppy, to really capture that “puppy look” and boundless energy. In response to that, I am offering a one-day puppy portrait special - a chance to capture that puppy look at a discounted price.

COST: We are waiving our normal session fee and asking for a suggested donation of $20 with all the proceeds to go to support a local animal shelter. All prints are in addition to the session donation.

Growing Up Plan

This is one of the adorable babies that is on my Growing Up Plan. These pictures are from her nine-month session but I have included some images from her three-month and six-month sessions so you can see how much she has changed. I didn’t think it was possible, but she keeps getting even cuter! She is already on the move, so I know she will be walking by her one year session. Her parents are so sweet and I love the chance to catch up with them every few months - it will be hard when she is done with the plan to not see all of them every three months. She has been featured on my website so many times in the past year, her mom and I joke that she is the little star of the website!

For those that don’t know, the Growing Up Plan is designed to capture the ever changing stages of babies first year and includes three studio sessions over one year. Ideal ages are three months, six months and one year. You receive an 8×10 inch print from each session and a 10×30 inch fine art panorama at the end of the plan that can include images from any of the sessions. Plan members also receive 10% off additional a la carte print, fine art print and canvas orders. Discounted Maternity sessions can be added to any plan and Newborn sessions (within the first month of life) can be added to any plan for FREE. The Growing Up Plan is $450 plus tax, a savings of over $150. It’s a great way to capture those fleeting moments before they are gone!
