Seeing Double

Pups Noelle and Nicholas are also brother and sister and so very cute together. While they were at first a little apprehensive of the situation, we eventually got them chasing each other around, playing tug-of-war and just generally cracking me up! I had such a hard time choosing just a few shots of the two of them together as there were so many super cute ones…

Hanging With The Boys

I have been doing so many pet portraits lately with the Ahimsa fundraiser and the Furry 5K fundraiser, which has been a lot of fun! However, I was looking at my blog and I realized it was almost all dogs with kids showing up few and far between. So…I wanted to put up some recent kid shots so you can see some of the other stuff that I have been up to lately.

This family is very special to me. I used to babysit occasionally for the oldest boy A when he was just a little baby. They came in last year when little N was just a baby - for people who have been to the studio, A is in one of the pictures on my front wall with his little stuffed Bearzo. They moved to Philly about nine months ago, but I was so pleased that they decided to include a trip to my studio on their visit to Seattle a few weeks ago. They have changed so much in the past year and a half! This time, Dad was able to join us, so we got some great shots of the boys and dad together. They will be so special for the boys as they grow older!

Furry Friends

More furry friends from our fundraiser for the Furry 5K…first up is Rufus, a sweet King Charles Cavalier who brought his entire family along for his photo shoot. Little D was super cute and always ready to help me out with getting his pup’s attention. And after a lot of work and patience, we got the super cute head down on the ground shot that is so signature to the Cavalier.

Next up is Duncan, a dog with the cutest ears and an adorable expressive face. I love this shot below with his frog - he looks so concerned! What is that frog doing??!!

Brindle Extraordinaire!

Bear, an adorable brindle, came into the studio last week, having traveled long and far, including a ferry ride, to get to the studio. I’m so flattered they came all the way to the studio, and so glad that they did as Bear is just so cute, a brindle extraordinaire for sure!

dog is my co-pilot.

This cute little ball of fluffy white came in awhile back for some surprise pictures for his Dad’s birthday, which is such a great present! He had some of the cutest rolling around on the floor shots and seems to just crack himself up, which I love!

Wag More, Bark Less

First up is a cute little Jack Russell, with a great spunky personality (as many Jack Russells tend to have). I can’t decide if I like the action shots or the adorable face shots better…

Next up, my new favorite mix - a bulldog/beagle mix. So very cute! Her coloring is so great, especially that spotted ear. And I swear she looks like she is smiling in half of these pictures!

Last but not least is Jessie, a fabulous collie mix with great, perky ears, beautiful coloring and an infectious smile. Lay down, sit up, jump, she did it all!

It’s Raining Cats & Dogs

It has definitely been “raining dogs” at the studio, and with the adorable b&w brother and sister below, it is now raining cats as well. It was great fun to have a little change of pace with the kitties, although I have gained an appreciation for how easy it is to get a dog’s attention. But you have to respect that cat attitude - they know what they want! Thanks S for all your help in cat wrangling!

Next up, an adorable chocolate lab, with quite possibly the MOST energy I have seen yet in the studio. I think the tongue shots explain it all. Gotta love it! And of course, being a lab, we could get anything done with a tennis ball. Thanks for all your hard work, M!

This chihuahua was so regal, calm and patient - such a sweetie! I love his little doggie house, he just climbed right in! And he can rock a jacket like no other. Love the shoes, A, they make the shot!

Have I mentioned how much I love Boston Terriers? My brother has a four-year-old Boston named Manapua, Hawaiian for (more or less) meat filled bun, so very appropriate for her! I used to get to puppy sit until he moved away to the warmth of sunny Hawaii - strangely enough, his pup doesn’t seem to miss Seattle weather….strange! Anyway, this little Boston was such a sweetie and had the cutest little grin when we got her running around. And she absolutely rocked her little pink doggles!

Last but not least, a sweet mixed breed who had a great bag of tricks, including balancing a treat on his nose, which always impresses me. I would just eat it!

Ahimsa Dogs

These three adorable dogs belong to Grisha, the owner of Ahimsa Dog Training in Ballard. As many of you know, we currently have pictures on display at Ahimsa and we just wrapped up a pet portrait fundraiser in collaboration with Ahimsa that helped raise almost $1000 for PAWS. We had close to thirty pets and pet owners come through the studio thanks to Ahimsa and I have to say, dogs with even basic obedience training are definitely easier to photograph (thanks Ahimsa!). It helps so much when they know basic commands, and Grisha’s dogs were no exception. Even with three of them, they were a breeze to photograph and are just adorable. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

See, total angels. :)

And the best shot of them all….I don’t know what she was doing to get her ears like that, but I love it!

Doggie Sneak Peek

I am a bit behind on blogging, as it has been a super busy weekend full of dog photo shoots. We went to the Furry 5K last Sunday and have a whole new group of people who signed up for pet portraits, so the last three days have been packed - 22 sessions in three days, whew!
Anyway, here are two more groups of dogs who came in for the PAWS fundraiser with Ahimsa - hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Dogs, Dogs, Dogs

This Italian Greyhound was beyond graceful and elegant. It’s hard to tell, but he was really quite small! I love the shots on the red dog pillow - so regal!

Next up - Barkley and Roshi, a Portugese Water Dog (we think) and a Bernese Mountain Dog. Both were such happy dogs with the sweetest faces and were a lot of fun to photograph.
