Hanging With The Boys

I have been doing so many pet portraits lately with the Ahimsa fundraiser and the Furry 5K fundraiser, which has been a lot of fun! However, I was looking at my blog and I realized it was almost all dogs with kids showing up few and far between. So…I wanted to put up some recent kid shots so you can see some of the other stuff that I have been up to lately.

This family is very special to me. I used to babysit occasionally for the oldest boy A when he was just a little baby. They came in last year when little N was just a baby - for people who have been to the studio, A is in one of the pictures on my front wall with his little stuffed Bearzo. They moved to Philly about nine months ago, but I was so pleased that they decided to include a trip to my studio on their visit to Seattle a few weeks ago. They have changed so much in the past year and a half! This time, Dad was able to join us, so we got some great shots of the boys and dad together. They will be so special for the boys as they grow older!

Brotherly Love

These two came in last week for portraits and were such a joy to work with. Older brother J was immediately ready for pictures and was really up for anything - definitely the best attitude of any almost three year old I have had yet. And little brother W was so happy and easy to work with, no fussing at all. Definitely some dream children to photograph! And as an added bonus, they are absolutely adorable. :) Hope you enjoy the sneak peek, E!

Just a little sneak peek…

What a fun group! This family came in a few weekends ago, and since we keep having to push back our ordering session, I thought I would tide them over with a few sneak peek images. While little K took his time warming up to the new surroundings, his older sisters were full of energy and ready to go! They are a photographer’s dream to photograph - I barely had to give them any suggestions and they were off and running, coming up with some of their own poses and just full of spunk and excitement. It was hard to even get them to take a break while we got some solos of their brother, they were just so into it. I love that kind of excitement! Little K warmed up enough that we got him in some shots (some with a bit of improvisation, as you will notice from the red background shot - the front wall of my studio). :) Mom and Dad were brave enough to get in some group shots and even have a few of their own together. I love getting pictures of parents by themselves. For many, it is the first formal shot of them together since their wedding!

M, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to see you next week and show you ALL of the great images we captured. :)

Personality is Everything

These three brothers came into the studio awhile back and the only way to describe them is personality, personality and loads of energy! And did I mention personality? From the very start I had them enthusiastically running and jumping (my normal start to most kid sessions, to get that blood pumping and get them excited about their pictures), even big brother A. Little T and B were FULL of energy and spunkiness that really created fun, vibrant pictures - take a look at their panoramas and you will see what I mean. I think these really captured their personalities. I think my favorite part was to see how much big brother A loves his little brothers and really looks out for them, something I think really comes across in the pictures of them together. And any group that can take a goofy hat picture (another good ice breaker) like the one below is high in my books! Talk about not holding anything back, I love it! What a fun, energetic and beautiful trio of brothers! Please, send some of your energy my way!

Recent Session

This session took place a few months ago with some of my favorite clients and this time they brought along two friends to join the fun! Little D is just adorable as can be - I especially love the one with the hat. And M has soooo much energy, he always makes the session energized, fun and spontaneous. His panorama really captures his energy and spirit. And I love the dancing shot where M is dipping his friend. We had such a fun time and with four kids there were so many fun pictures to choose from, we even got Mom in a few shots. Hope you enjoy!

Cousin Session

I first met this little one last summer when he was just a little thing, about three months old. Now he is back for his first birthday and he brought his older cousin along for the fun! I love seeing how much little ones change within their first year and this one was no exception. His cousin was a lot of fun and really helped me out in the one-year-old “wrangling” that can go on at sessions - it made it so easy and so fun!
